Questioning the flist

I'm looking at my friend-of list. Some of you I know from real life, I just don't read your journals. The rest of you who I haven't friended - or talked to previously, which includes peeps like caia_comica and jane somebody, what the hell are you doing here? I've looked at your journals and can't for the life of me figure out why you're here. Did someone pimp me? Are you waiting for the next time I start ranting? The next time my bunnies actually let me write fic? What fandom? Answers below, please.

Reciprocal friending

Um, would you mind if I put you on my friends list?

I'm afraid my list is very boring as it's mostly Discworld fans I've met in real life. ( apart from [livejournal.com profile] valkyrieblue that is )

Hmm. You're on my flist because, at some point, some one *else* on my flist mentioned that you'd posted something of interest to me, doubtless DC comics related (I read more comics than I talk about in my journal, though I also have a quiet interest in Buffy), and I friended you in the hopes you'd do something like that again, and because I have a really hard time keeping *track* of people if they're not on my flist.

As for *what* it was, I can't say I remember. I do think it happened more than once before I finally friended you, though, and it took awhile since, as you noticed, we don't have all that much in common.

I can defriend if you'd prefer.

I am Simon, Selena's friend from the funeral who carried her and placed her in the ground.

We met there, that's why you're on my flist.

When I joined Livejournal, I was in a Starfury kind of mood, and I found your journal through Ming. Realising that I had actually met you, and that we had some common interests (plus, having no LJ friends at that time) I added you, as you generally have some interesting things to write.

I can also remove you if you'd prefer.

Three things we have in common: Silverlake, Dark Is Rising, Robin of Sherwood. And that's enough for me.
