also, I er, steamroller people who don't speak up. my last objective setting, I walked in (workload being catastrophic at the time), announced that if it took longer than half an hour I was walking out because I had more important things to do, dictated what was needed, what we were lacking, went out, then spent five minutes hyperventilating due to the realisation dawning of what I'd just done.

...It is not my fault that my bosses are softly spoken, reasonable, *nice* people. Though I should be worried that they filled the department with loud, opinionated arrogant sods to basically fit in with me as people left for other departments and jobs. On the other hand, we're all apparently quite efficient and scary in our ability to plough through masses of work. However, they hire us, and then they complain about the noise.
