Heh, pottersues scared me off that place well and truly. I did see last time I ventured over there (this is not a regular occurrence, I would like to stress) that some ok LJ ficwriters crosspost there. And there are some good non-LJ writers. But they're drops in a very murky ocean, as far as I can tell. ;)

Out of curiousity, how strictly do you adhere to your 'no beta, not going to read' rule? (Rule is possibly too strict a word here, but I can't think of another...)
