sprechen sie er.....

Made resolution that I will learn a language, dammit, and I suppose Indonesian is as good a place as any to start. Thing is, I don't know *which* language to go for. I know Bahasa Indonesia is the official language, but according to the parentals it's not anyone's actual language (business, education, academia, politics). So should I instead go for Sundanese (what I spoke as a child), Javanese (most common) or go 'fuck it' and pick Malaysian?

Also thinking about Welsh just for curiosity's sake.

That's Malay, not Malaysian! Malay: ethnic group and language. Malaysian: nationality.
