:shudder:

Rented The Others with mum. Okay, going to hide from any shadows and creaky noises for at least two days now. Seriously, seriously disturbing, especially that bit with the doors. And the night scene. I'd seen it before, Mum wanted to see it, and then found out when we got home that Dad likes the idea of a good scary story/movie/play (no, not slasher horror type ones) but can't stand watching them. Interesting.

Yes! It's scary, scary, scary, right up to the point where you realise that, effectively, there's a supernatural settlin-in service. Ghost social workers.

And yet, I'm not going to mock it any more, because I was really scared, and I want to sleep tonight.

Ghostal workers? ;o)

But that leads to all sorts of Space Ghost references, hence, wrong.

this is like trying to explain to people why the play version of The Woman in Black, a little Victorian ghost story, is so fucking scary and leads to nightmares and not wanting to go to sleep at night. Oh, and screaming while you watch it.

Closed doors freak me out. When I was a kid I refused to sleep in a room with the door closed. So you can understand why I was totally terrified through the entire movie...
