costume meanders

burntcopperwell, today was spent doing completely unworthy things. Shopping for bits for costumes. But have finally found a basic, perfect black string vest, which I've been looking for for over a year now. Going into shops recently it's been 'No I don't bloody well want one with a lining! Or a luminous pink one! OR one with the bottom blobked out with aertex!' But thankyou, thankyou Pilot, you're a lovely shop. :mwah: also thankyou for a rather nice no frills corset-type top.
Right, so not going as Poison Ivy, going as Black Canary, which I realised would require bugger all work if I went with the classic design. Black jacket? Check. Fishnets? Check. Boot thingies? No probs. Bodysuit... well, can't find a decent strapless black swimming costume so it's going to be an amalgam of the corset and one of my speedos pulled up to just under my tits. Add a black choker, re-do my roots and ta-daaaa!
Sci-Fi Heroes - generic space gal. String vest or leather top, padded bra of either sparkly or black, black combats and combat boots. Add black cycling gloves and a gun. Problem with sci-fi is that unless you're going for Farscape leather, Star Trek jumpsuit or Stargate cammo, you're left with Princess Leia for specific people.
Twenties - Do Not ask. Getting less and less happy with the Cellblock Tango look by the minute. Went to the local costume shop and recoiled in horror from their twenties dresses.
Also : anyone in the UK who's reading this? Watch 'Reborn in the the USA', thet thing about faded popstars trying to re-start their careers. My cousin Tabs is producing it. (Look for Tabitha Hanson-Obtulowicz in the credits)
