Last night we decided we would rent funny videos. Utter brain candy. A Knight's Tale was a foregone choice, and the second one decided upon was Legally Blonde.
Watched A Knight's Tale. Oh god. This is fucking hysterical. When practically the fourth line in a film written by an American (Helloooooooo Brian Helgeland - Wrote LA Confidential) is 'Manky Git' and they start kicking the dead body, you know you're in for something special. It was truly, truly great and hysterical, with a script of greatness. Not to mention the squeeness that is Laura Fraser on form. Paul Bettany as Geoffrey Chaucer was a true classic, especially considering the first time you see him he's nekkid. (Lou and me have decided on timeshare) And the slashiness.... oh, my, the slashiness between Heath Ledger's William and Paul Bettany's Geoffrey was a true and beautiful thing. Not to mention evil bloke gave William a look at the dance that me and Lou translated as 'I've just come in my pants'. Fic? The Princess's father makes her marry evil bloke two weeks after the tournament, meaning William and Geoff decide 'fuck it, princesses come and go but great sex, jousting, crowd hyping and great sex are far more enduring. Mmmm, James Purefoy as Edward the Black Prince....
Legally Blonde - also hysterical, in that Clueless way. Laughing at the characters rather than with them, though the intelligent moments were great - especially the parental stalking case study where Elle points out that since the man was a habitual sperm donor, why hasn't he sought out parental rights on all the other kids? And since he probably jerks off regularly without donating it, doesn't that register as wilful abandonment? :snerk: We want her pink fluffy armchair thingy.
