Okay, that was a mistake. it's fucking boiling. Am going to go earlier in the morning from now on - 8-ish or something, when it hasn't had time to properly heat up. You know you're hot when you start pleading for the ice-cream van to come somewhere near you.

Gay MPs and the like

read here. Shadow Foriegn Secretary has come out as gay. Previous Conservative MPs that came out lost their seats pretty quickly or were forced to resign. Matthew Parris, one of the more respected politics journalists only came out after he stopped being a Conservative MP. There's plenty of out and proud Labour and Liberal MPs, and we're just waiting to see if the Conservatives will finally move into the 20th century, let alone the 21st.

Best reaction - if you scroll down - is 'So what?'. Most of the people who've posted their viewpoints have said something similar. And trust me, non-reactionary views on the talking point section of the BBC are rare as hell.

Out there and in here it's hot, sticky and ew. All the windows and doors're open, not making a blind bit of difference. Not even humid, which I don't like but can cope with. Sun's not out, but at least we've just been having a bit of thunder, which bodes well...

I need a pool. Bit difficult since we're in very hilly country. Purley on Thames is just one bloody great hill, and Meadway - the nearest pool, up in Tilehurst, is a tiny kiddy pool with the main ingredient of chlorine.
