of newsreaders
Oct. 25th, 2002 03:21 pmThought I'd better put this in here. It is absolutely great when you get an extremely pissed off newsreader. She was doing part of the lunchtime report on radio 1, on this adult training scheme that's gone belly up with a load of money wasted and a lot of fraud. She described how it was set up, which was "rushed into starting and no-one knew what they were doing. Remind you of anything? That's right. The A-level changes." This was good enough, but then the class bit came up : they had the politico in charge of it speak, saying "I'm sorry for the problems that _insert scheme name here_ caused, and blah de blah de blah." She stopped it, Then said, sounding really pissed off : "You all heard that, right? A politician apologising. Let's hear that again."
