work musings
Nov. 20th, 2002 12:39 pmJust thinking something. Virgin is an interesting place to work with. Most of the people there are intelligent and enjoy arguing discussions. You can talk film geekery with people who know what you're talking about. And... you can have discussions and arguments about the hotness of various female stars with several of the blokes. Chris and Phil, I'm looking at *you*. In a perfectly normal way. With pros and cons. Quite interesting really, because none of them are drooling fanboys.
Also got my first chewing out re: till mess-ups. This is not a bad thing. This tells me any basic mistakes I've been doing, and though, as Jane pointed out, there were a lot of some, they were all the same thing. So, correct it, and the problem goes away. Simple, neh? I put in a lot of the same coupon as a voucher because I didn't know that was what you were supposed to do. Sold several Star Wars DVDs at less than I was supposed to, and as I explained, they'd had the wrong price on them, and if they're advertised at that price, we have to sell them at that price and I'd been told by one of the supervisors that we had to do that until the price got corrected. And fucked up a cheque because I forgot the £45 authorisation rule on them. It's a stupid rule, but it's an antiquated thing, and we can't do anything about it. So, got corrected and actually feel good about it. For the first time in my life.
