Going into town to take some clothes to oxfam, and some stuff back to M&S. Also to buy wig, red make-up and some other bits. Boorrrrrrrring.

On t' other hand, have test-thingy at the Food Standards Agency on 6th May - sort of a winnowing stage before interviews, Press Office Assistant.

Shopping results and costume jitters

Right. Trip to town has resulted in two well-stuffed bags worth of clothing going to a charity shop, and two swimsuits going back to M&S. Bought items : a loaf of bread, velcro, elastic, red cloth for belt-thingy, a purple wig, knickers and red make-up. Perused the cloth in John Lewis and jittered some more as I contemplate the sewing and construction.

Oh, dear god, what am I doing? I haven't touched a sewing machine or done any major-league sewing in almost 13 years - plenty of repairs, turn-ups and buttons done by hand, but actual clothing? I've been planning it out logistically - thinking where the bits that'll have to be opened and closed (thus the velcro), etc, but actual shape of cloth and getting it to fit and go together right, not to mention getting it to cover the boots properly? Help. Me.
