burntcopper: (just try it)
Got the washing done, looked through the jobs section, dyed the hair, and gathered stuff to go sit out and have lunch and take the time to read the features sections of the papers. Was prepared. Went out there in short wraparound skirt and bikini (standard wear for indoors and out in hot weather), plastered in factor 20, my standard. Only managed 45 mins by sheer determination before the heat got to me. Is probs partly of my inability to sit/lie still outside, but mostly the scorchio factor. Have since retreated inside.

Reading theory test book. Deadly boring but also v. slow going.

Carte D'Or Fruit and Fresh frozen yogurt v. nice. Refreshing and also rather light, which is good.

Oh dear. Had one of those moments where you're watching an ep, they do an investigation/setting somewhere, and you're sitting there counting all the things they're getting wrong, and wincing as the show progresses...

Yep, this was me getting my daily dose of The Sentinel. This ep set on an oil rig. My dad's a geophysicist and has worked the last thirty or so years in oil companies, and used to go out to rigs regularly for progress reports and so on. They didn't screw up too badly, except on certain safety issues. Which they screwed up on major time. First, everyone charging round in a storm. The absence of safety checks and so on. The major lack of people on the rig. Dripping oil?!? And finally, people charging around sans helmets. Especially Jim and Blair, who were never provided with helmets in the first place. Thou dost not take one's helmet off at any time in the works area. Rigs are dangerous places to work on. Surprised Blair didn't get his head staved in earlier. :yells at show's producers: And :snicker: Cyclops Oil? Please, guys, think of a better name...

But on the other hand, we did get Protective Jim, Domestic neat freak issues Jim, and Naked Jim taking a shower with Blair averting his eyes.
