Spent today trying to get the store ready. I left 'em to it at 7:30. The area manager stood around and ignored any criticism of the fact that this is a job that should take ten, not seven days, and that Jessops couldn't be arsed to move all our stock. Oh, and spent the time on his phone or getting in the way. The designer was a wanker - one day I want to get designers and architects and make them work in the building they've designed.
To top it all off, we had some people over from the Queen Vic, plus me going there at one point as there was nowt to do - and we're all coming down with the lurgy. Most suspect a combo of the air conditioning and freezing conditions at the Queen Vic.
Tonight, start Nanowrimo. And attempt to get all hooks and eyes on costume before then. :sulks: bastard Sky One cancelled Dead Like Me tonight for a Halloween Scare Tactics. Hello, a show about grim reapers. what more do you want?
Have completed Daisy Duke costume. Found a pair of wooden platform heeled sandals, terribly 70s (and according to parents, who lived in Oklahoma at the time of Dukes of Hazzard, very correct) in the sale at Dolcis, marked as 20 quid but the sales girl came back with the other one, saying 'The heel on this one's chipped, I'l have to take 5 quid off. That okay?' Hell yeah. And they're terribly, terrribly cute. Now, I just need my job at Virgin back. Because my bum and legs need a work out, and that place was just a step class masquerading as a job. Also, there will be dieting. And sit-ups.
