burntcopper: (fandom ain't right)
For some reason I am writing Guinevere pov fic. I may have watched the trailer too much, but I've mentally written it ever since reading Rosemary Sutcliffe's Sword at Sunset, the first version of the legend I ever read where I could actually believe in it. One that was set in the right time period, had the right concerns, no bloody holy grail, and didn't have any ladies wafting around with one of those hats that looked like you've had an ice-cream cone dropped on your head. I really, truly hate it when people set Arthur during the time of Edward I - Edward idolised the concept of Arthur, you twats, Arthur was a legend during that time, not lived then! Plus raised with Roman and Dark Ages history. And why yes, I am writing it with political considerations, and I've always believed Artos was sleeping with Bevan, so he's not going to be able to talk about Gwenhwyfar doing it....

But I really want to slaughter some of the twats on the Robin of Sherwood list. These are people who like the dressing up more than anything, and oh christ, when I made the squee comment about the trailer and it being the right time period, one idiot said something about the Edward I stuff being more satisfying for the viewer and then proceeded to make a complete twat of himself by saying Arthur was fighting the last of the Romans. :restrains self from throttling listperson through phone line: Deep Breath. Deep Breath. Fuck it. He was fighting the Saxons! Most of the Romans had either integrated or left by then! Tosssssssssssssssssssssseerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

On the data entry stuff I do for Dad. Matt's doing the Latin America section this time around. Can feel the brain starting to melt into cheese from here.

Debating whether to put other pairings into the 'categories' of BSY - maybe just characters, as it's a one-ship archive, unlike, say, the Wesley archive or Lilah archive, or the 'arrrgh' that is the pairings list of DIRslash.

Not much to say this end, except I have chocolate cravings and tonight we go see ROTK en familie.

Hmm. Also, on another note, how many of you are multi-fandom whores? As in reading and writing. To be multi-fandom your count must be above five. No more, no less, and the number of the counting shall be five... I think my last count is something like sixty or above for reading (obscure british fandoms and so on are seriously bad for you), and twelve for writing, not including the Arthurian fic I'm writing currently, or the SG-UK thing that's having anecdotes added to it.
