Started the job hunt, tentatively. Gone and registered at job agencies, picked up Grauniad to flick through, may start looking through the job sites.

Mailed off another set of photos plus the hard copy of the data entry. Going to get some more costuming done, have yet to find a decent bra pattern for Gladiator, and really need to stick stuff on ebay.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] brandnewgun is going on about this bloke's article on public mourning. Some of his points are valid. Especially about the fuckheads who claim to mourn for the Soham schoolgirls and so on, when they've never bloody met them. I don't agree with his stuff on protests, but yes, definitely on with the fact that some people are wankers who'll latch onto anything to give them an excuse for exhibitionism.

comics!

Am happily reading comics, all of which are new to me.

The Pulse looks interesting, as it's Alias (Jessica Jones, you tv-heads) now working for the Daily Bugle on a superheroes segment. It's Bendis, it's real-life-style, it's got squabbles about health insurance and jobs and editing and I love it so far.

Teen Titans, picked up purely because [livejournal.com profile] thete1 reawakened my Robin/Superboy lust and started going on about what's happening with the recently-disbanded Young Justice. So far... not bad writing, couldn't care less about Raven or Starfire (what is the point? Really? Does anyone care about them? If you want female characters, bring back Cissie! We need more archers! Especially ones that look suspiciously like a covered up affair with Green Arrow by the mum!) , but the little glimpses of everyone else I get just make me squeal. Especially 'where's your boyfriend?' to WG, cue picture of SB in detention... Also, the new costumes on WG and SB make me squeal. Yes they do. I loved WG's old one of t-shirt, leather jacket and jeans, but the new one is rather cute but still practical and rather Cassie plus Donna homage. Superboy's t-shirt and jeans and new haircut.... :guh:. There are no words for my costume love. Bart, get rid of the Kid Flash one and put your Impulse one on now. Right now. The Kid Flash one was ugly, is ugly and will always be ugly, there is no backing down on this. Tom Grummett, much as I love you, you need to be drawing Bart with bigger feet. But the way you draw SB as physically older than you used to back in early SB series days is very much of the cool. Also? Robin-Batman convos are the squee.

Then comes my new utter adoring minseries. it's on ish 2, you should be ble to find ish one, then hug and squeeze this series to pieces. I picked up ish one on a 'cover looks nice', flicked, then rushed to the counter with it, wallet at the ready. Superman : Secret Identity is far too fucking cool. Boy gets born to a couple in the real world, last name Kent, in Kansas, and of course they think it's cute to name him Clark. Cue Supes jibes his whole damn life, and he hates it, as the joke has never been funny and he doesn't even like comics. Then the miraculous happens, which is that one day he wakes up with the Superman powers, and... oh god. It's just fantastic. When helping people (while moving fast enough to be a blur), he even wears a Superman costume he picked up from a costume shop just so if people see him and try to report it, it'll be 'Riiiight you were saved by Superman. Uh-huh.'

In other news, if anyone wants Strangers in Paradise graphic novels, or Frank Miller's Ronin, or Batman No Man's Land, mosey over to ebay.co.uk. I don't want 'em anymore. Next items going up are vids.
