Criticism of stories
Jul. 14th, 2004 01:23 amHmm.
liviapenn's got a good idea. See here for details. I want honest, what the hell did I do wrong, or what I could do better overall, or recurring annoying habits I have in my writing generally...
For example, plotwise, I have this habit of getting to the big event and then trying to get it out of the way as soon as possible, having already emptied it of its impact and rendering it powerless and one paged.
Go on, you know you want to. This is me seeking *pointers*, people. Apart from, y'know, having to give my plotbunnies a kick up the arse to enable me to finish a bleedin' story recently.
(And before you ask? I know about the healing time stupidity in Ring Cycle. And the songfic is exempt, because by its nature it is terrible. Plus. Er. The Epic Mary-Sue.)
Also, why did I never pick up Hunter : Age of Magic? It's fucking amazing, like the best early Books of Magic possible, before it all went absolutely bloody nuts at times. :hugs z-cultfm:
