Just watched the first ep of Deadwood. Interesting beginning, and one of those shows where maybe it doesn't strike you to the gut, but it's strong enough and has enough potential to go 'okay, want to see what happens'.
Ian McShane as utter hard bastard I like, and nice set-up of the townsfolk and general atmosphere. Everyone that's had decent screentime was operating on all cylinders, and doing it nicely laid-back and quiet-like. Pity we won't get to see more of Driscoll, but there's plenty of other folk to keep me interested. And not a lot of cliche, either, aside from the man as runs the newspaper.
And why yes, I am pondering slash between Bullock and his sidekick. (I think his name was Farnum) It'll be a nice place to start.
