Went to see Ella Enchanted today, not expecting that much beyond that it was supposed to be a bit Princess-Bride like. *So* glad I did.
It's adorable, feel-good, re-works the Cinderella story completely, and terribly, terribly snarky. And yes, feel utterly free to drool over Hugh Dancy being adorable. Although unfortunately he's not showing off his legs like in King Arthur, (he does wear leather trousers but they're baggy because he spends a fair bit of time on a horse) he does take his shirt off at one point. There are songs and dances. Which are far too much fun. And Cary Elwes hamming it up something chronic as the evil king. Spent the whole time grinning, giggling, or going 'awwwww'. Supporting cast fantastic, and how can you not love a film where Prince Char has to regularly run from his psychotic fanclub made up of teenage girls?
So seeing it again next week...
