costume mutterings
Feb. 4th, 2005 02:25 amWhy yes, it's that time of year again (ie every few months) where I snarl about costume bits. Fortunately, mum showed me a quick way of ruching/gathering fabric. Loosest tension, longest stitch and pull the weak side. Then tack ribbon on by hand. Need to do some more as it turns out I don't have quite enough (you'd think 4m would be enough) for the bottom edge and both armholes.
After that... Well, need to paint the top, then make the belt, paint the belt, then make the gold discs and the underlying scarf. Fingers crossed.
Watched ep 5 of House (slowly working way through 'em). and loving every minute of it. Hugh Laurie as an utter bastard is great, the House/best mate whatsisface played by Robert Sean Leonard is slowly getting slashier in the buddyfuck way, and you have to love programmes that have nuns in them as patients. Script and storyline quality remain at consistent high. Also loving whoever decided for Massive Attack's 'Teardrop' for the credits. It just *works*.
