Feb. 7th, 2005 02:33 pmBefore I go to the post office and bid farewell to all my Powers comics, I leave a small observation.
Was watching 100 greatest music videos last night. (basically, the public votes and Channel 4 gets a very cheap way to fill up an evening with clips and some talking heads) The top ten-twenty were very predictable. Large amounts of Queen, Madonna and Jacko, since they are the acknowledged masters of the form. We were watching 'Screm', the one with Michael and Janet that's black and white and in some futuristic space-pod thingy, that cost 7 million dollars, most expensive video ever. And one of the commentators pointed out that 'You know how Michael's always going on about Heal the World and so on? He could end a lot of these problems if he spent the money he spent on these videos on causes.' The other thing : watching the images of Scream and realised that all of Michael Jackson's surgery has turned him into a Manga character. Seriously. I said this and my dad blinked and agreed. Small nose, ridiculous expressions, big eyes, face that looks like nothing on this earth...
