Fear my costuming skills
Sep. 13th, 2005 01:29 amGo on, fear them. (well, actually, you really should. In the normal sense of 'fear', like 'run away! run away!')
Have mostly finished Green Fairy bodice/leotard thingy. Just got to put in the holes for lacing and adjust one side of the bum and I am done! Sequin fabric = evil, but I'm sure you all know that.
Had scary moment whilst doing sewing. Dad had Sly and Robbie playing on the stereo. A sexy, slow song comes on, girl making it as sultry Dusty Springfield as she possibly can. Listen for a couple of bars and lyrics, then sit up stright and go 'Bloody hell, that's Cole Porter!' Dad raises sceptical eyebrow, checks, confirms it, very surprised. I run upstairs to get my Swings Cole Porter cd, which has it how you *normally* hear it, and it takes Dad a good verse to get it, since Sly and Robbie appear to have cut a lot of the sweet stuff out to make it sultry.
Cole Porter : adapted for your every need.
