Cirque du Soleil
Jan. 11th, 2006 01:40 pmWent to see Allegria as per my birthday treat/family post-New Year outing. (they've become rather prorietary about it in recent years, and Matt was pouting that we weren't going to see Tintin since Mum steamrollered dad into booking for Cirque. For some reason I was not deemed to have any say in the matter.)
Um. There were clowns. There were trapeze artists. There were contortionists and fire dancers and people singing and rhythmic gymnasts and gymnasts who were twisting into strange shapes supporting themselves on one hand on top of poles and people somersaulting on poles six inches wide. Also clowns. (family still giggling over any mention of paper airplanes) All very nicely tied together with costumes and lighting and choreography and music. (live, provided by the main singer who wandered around the stage occasionally and musicians)
It's difficult to describe, since we spent most of it with our mouths open or going 'oh my god'. So basically, if you have a chance to see Cirque du Soleil, go. Because it's seriously amazing.
....I have way too much tv to watch, not to mention House and new SGA and Supernatural to download. ack!
