Gacked from *everyone*.

01. Do I have a distinct style of writing?
02. If so, what exactly is it that defines my style?
03. Would you say my stories follow a certain theme?
04. Is there anything you feel I ought to improve or change?
05. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of anyone else?
06. Judging from whatever writing of mine that you've seen, what do you think is/are my strength(s)?
07. What do you think are my weaknesses?

In other news : nearing end of the Cinderella re-write that has grabbed all my plotbunnies by the throat for the last couple of weeks and not let them go; (I've been scribbling this damn thing on the tube, at lunchtimes, in bed... occasional days it's only two lines, others it's pages.) This is no doubt frivolous, derivative, etc, but at least it's going to be a *finished* piece of fic that may finally let my bunnies loose on my fandom fic. ([livejournal.com profile] megolas informs me that fairytale re-writes are not fanfic)

Due to mum being away, me and Dad are refining the fine art of long rambling discussions at the table, normally based on film or history. I think we finally left the table at 10:30 last night after a long one on nazi portrayal (Schindlers List and the absolute stomach-dropping awfulness of Conspiracy), the character of the various Nazi heads, Johnny Depp being god-like, Renee Zellweger vs Nicole Kidman as types of acting with side-trips into Cate Blanchett (ie 'Nicole Kidman is' vs. 'Bridget Jones, played by'), the Bridget Jones type (several women my dad has worked with, down to the mannerisms), Lord of the Rings as adapted by Mr. Jackson, Gollum, the actors and casting (ie, my god they hit a lucky period for actors available), women in LotR, Steptoe and Son, Dad's Army, Gandhi and Lawrence of Arabia (film versions) and the giving out of the Oscars.

Then I bugger off to do the washing up. Most of the way through it when I hear the strains of RotK in the study (Dad's been re-watching the trilogy in small chunks), go to investigate, since it's siege of Gondor/Shelob point, perch on the sofa arm to watch the Shelob scene... and suddenly it's 12:30. I think a good phrase would be arse, since I wanted to watch some of the dl'd tv I have. also, Lost is refusing to dl. Never mind that it's got about 13,000 seeders and 15,000 leechers. Someone said the tracker may be overloaded. Going to try again tonight.
