Today, I was mostly a tourist
Oct. 7th, 2006 06:56 pmMet up with Amber and Katie and her bro Chris at the London Eye. Me, Chris and Katie went up the London Eye. Then we came down, grabbed a Celena and her boyf Stuart, Katie and Chris's mate Aaron, then walked up to the Globe and then to St Paul's. Where we discovered it was 8 quid to go past the foyer and went 'bugger that!', so went to Tower Bridge. Chris and I are in favour of either sticking the lions back in or re-filling the moat at the Tower and filling it with sharp-toothed beasties. I pointed out that it would be too cold for crocodiles, also for piranha, but sharks and killer whales would probably be fine. Chris was also on duty of dragging Heather away from ice cream vans, because she does not need expensive Mr. Whippy ice creams, no matter what her hind brain tells her. Then Tower Bridge, where we went ooo and ahhh and found out that the stone cladding is there to hide the hydraulics and blend in with the Tower. One great quote on a piece of film was 'The most advanced piece of industrial epoch and we make it look like something that wouldn't look out of place to the Black Prince.' Walked as far as a pub on the south bank, past several pieces of nice architecture and walking areas, and then I buggered off home as wanted to get back for OMG starts in ten minutes ROBIN HOOD! EEEEEE!
:mutter: this better be good.
Katie has given me back my cough when it was just going. :grumble: she texts me last night, an hour later, several coughing fits, including today. yay.
