burntcopper: (death of rats)
Today I was woken up by [livejournal.com profile] wiccachik texting me to ask when I wanted to collect the jacket. Seriously. Air-Ace style suede/leather jacket with fleece and quilting on the inside. We'd found a size 12 in the wimbledon one (me and Bay Trading are an evil combination and bad for my bank account) but I always buy coats one size big so I can fit more than a single layer of t-shirt under them. Cathy, Teddy, and Taz were treated to me going 'squee!' and running around picking up t-shirts and cute military-style shirts, and suede skirts and heading for the changing rooms in the Wimbledon one. And having paid for it all, spotting this jacket. All I need now is a white silk scarf and a pair of tan trews. Why yes, I have decided what I'll be going as for Duckology's military night...

Passed an open top bus on way to station which had one of those 'putting christ back into christmas' banners draped from it. I always feel the need to raise an eyebrow at this statement. '...You mean the fact that you hijacked Saturnalia and Yule? Christ was born around *Easter*, nitwits.' Seriously. So very glad I've seen bugger all in the way of angels or similar on any decor this year. Lots of deer, lots of snow, robin, holly, stars and trees. Midwinter fest and Yule and the tradition of giving pressies that comes from Yule and Saturnalia are a lot easier to live with, even if I do adore carols. But yeah, happy Yule to all those on my flist who have today as religious.

Went Watford, where fairy liquid was bought, Accessorise was rummaged through (so much easier when people say 'Jewellery from Accessorise, please') with 'so, what's her style?' 'Anna's Snow White and Steph is a cross between Classic French and Audrey Hepburn.' This basic statement has made many a shop assistant's life easier. Hmm. Do I have a description when it comes to style? On the other hand, no-one ever seems to buy me jewellery or clothing, so probably not. Then on the way to Thorntons, I encountered Hotel Chocolat. :burp: see me rummage in the name of Mother Dearest, who had requested Thorntons but I suspect will be easily swayed by the Rose and Violet creams box. Hotel Chocolat is interesting : Its decor makes harsh, uncompromising statements about their chocolate, all black with tiny white writing. Possibly 'we have Peruvian and slabs of chocolate and we're not afraid to use them'.
