gangrene : the new exposed wrist tendons
Apr. 22nd, 2007 08:41 pmToday I went to Three Bridges (Transport for London advised me to take buses and change twice to get to Victoria, to which I say 'er, WTF? I was thinking more like Northern to Warren Street and then Victoria line, which takes all of 15 minutes. And *buses* on Marathon day? Are you *insane*?' When I got to Victoria on the way back, station was full of marathon veterans in their t-shirts.). Saw Cathy and paul, then stripped off and had lots of photos of my back taken in various poses. :sigh: Only wanted for my tattoo... Found that baby oil feels bloody weird. And got squirted with water a few times, to which I shrieked and threatened Paul with many, many painful deaths.
Gross-out photos of the week : limbs in various stages of gangrenous decay. One was so advanced it looked like it was rotting off. Added to the fact that there was no response to the treatments, that leg was for the chop. Ah, working on medical journals, there's nothing like it.
Yesterday, went jogging again. If I can keep to a semi-decent sleep schedule, I reckon I should be able to keep it up. Mind you, it does tell you exactly which bits need toning, because those are the bits that jiggle the most whilst running and are therefore sore.
Need to investigate market soon to check out summer skirts and dresses for stuff with actual colour in it.
Silke has her mum and aunt staying this weekend. They speak no english, though slightly weirded out to find that I can still understand a fair bit of German and make myself understood a bit. (emphasis on 'a bit'). And then when you find yourself singing under your breath 'Ein Freund' by the Comedian Harmonists, they'll giggle and sing the entire thing.
