rail and flooding

Train over an hour late into Reading due to various cases of flooding on track. Had to be re-routed due to flooding causing a derailment, then got stopped by some flooding ourselves. A classic statement from the train manager due to the re-routing :

'Due to the re-routing, I apologise to all passengers that were hoping to see the Westbury white horse, but I hope you'll take some comfort in the knowledge that it's a Georgian tourist attraction and not in fact a prehistoric monument.'

Nano continuing apace. Got bugger all done at the weekend -actually got more done on the trains down and up. This one's... odd, because it's not being written in exact chronological. It's more thematic, and I've found myself writing some bits much later that take place well before a previously written bit. piecing it together'll be interesting. And I can;t believe I've ducked out of writing at least one sex scene with the notion of keeping it on the back burner in case I need it. Yeah. You heard me. Ducking out of writing a word-guzzler. In my defence, this was last night, when I was having problems writing owt at all...

For all of those who listened to the news Quiz this friday

teh clippings at the end that they read out? The one with the parish minutes that went on about the missile launcher? That one was sent in by my dad. he's feeling terribly smug. (and for those who might not have heard the reason the parishioners were concerned due to Sandi Toksvig laughing so much - it was damaging the pavement. Yeah. Welcome to England. We don't care that there's a missile launcher in your front garden, we care when it's damaging the pavement.) *and* got clapped at work for it on monday, so there's no living with him.

In nano news, there's several sex scenes I have to write for plot purposes. or at least fade to black on. I was whining about this to jamjar about this earlier, she picked one, and... i went and wrote the beginning of the swordfight scene. That, er, leads into one of the sex scenes? er....

Seriously. i have to write these for plot purposes to give some background on what's going on. And they all go in one chapter/thematic bit. Spread over a few weeks :

Peter harasses Caspian something chronic. (directly after Caspian's coronation)
Susan seduces Caspian because he's pretty and she needs a distraction from all the ambassador stuff.
Caspian/Peter/Susan.
Peter shags Caspian the night of Susan and Caspian's engagement, and then Susan joins them
Bacchus' revels. Which segues into what I refer to gleefully as 'The Collective Telmarine Scream' in my notes.

And I already got the Bacchus/Edmund out of the way (or at least faded to black with possibility of inserting sex scene later.) AUGH.
