Wanting new phone. Specifically, one that can do decent we surfing, etc. Don't want an iphone, and because I'm cheap, I'm poking the orange site to see what I can get when i upgrade on current contract for free. (having looked at the prices, I reckon it's better if I stay on the 25 band and pay the fiver for data rather than go to the 30/35 price range.)

What's bloody annoying is that though the orange site will sort mobiles by pay as you go vs contract, feature, and brand, it won't sort by payment band.

In other news, trying to make self write statements and fill in forms. Having problems doing the statement bit as I keep opening it, writing a few words and stopping. And wondering if 'Do you wanna date my avatar' will chart today.

I'm on Dolphin 25, and I got the 5800 Xpress Music as an Orange free upgrade. It's ace. Typing into web forms is a bit of a bastard, but other than that it's a good web experience (though I don't have much to compare to) and it connects to wireless networks, so cheap, hooray.

Look at the HTC ones hun - they've great. They run Windows mobile which means everything works as you expect it to. There phones are better than the iphone because
a.) they're not a mac therefore you don't have to sell your soul / become annoyingly pretentious to own one.
b.) focus more on substance than style
c.) have been doing this for YEARS. Just saw an iphone add in which they're going 'ooh look, you can copy and paste' ... Yes... And what, you want a pat on the head, decent phones running of decent systems have been doing that for ages.
d.) it's not a mac

I've got one of the older HTC Tyttn's that runs windows mobile 6 and I really like it, but of the newer ones someone was recommending the HTC 'Hero' which I thinks runs the Android system and has all the whiz-bang-ness that the iphone promises but actually delivers. Pop into one of the stores and have a look. Oh, also people review phones on youtube - worth having a good look around before you decide.
