mingmerciless, Claire, Sloopy, Chewie and Sonja, Jo, John the Goth and some other lovelies whose names I can't remember. Anyway, talked a bit, then were taken on trek through Croydon to the salsa club, which some bastard had booked out so we went to Flares. 70s and 80s cheese, where our group spent at least 90% of songs on dancefloor. Including doing Tragedy and a couple of us doing macarena to random songs as a giggle, and the Saturday Night Fever line dance. Which I swear I saw one bloke attempt to copy... Even better? They have massive cocktail portion in plastic goldfish bowls for 8.50, and tv screens dotted around on which they play 70s films, Grease and Saturday Night Fever while we were there. Except during Grease, you'd see our group occasionally glance up and then start saying the exact words along with the silent tv screens. You know you've seen a film too many times for that to happen.
Crashed back at the flat, kept on talking and geeking and costume geeking... Oh god. After discussing various costumes, difficulties, etc, and the fact that Tors and that are doing Blackadder II for a con, I suggested Ming for Melchett. He does a fabulous impression. Then they turned on me and went 'We don't have a Nursie. You're volunteered.' Oh god. Someone save me.... Also, if Sean doesn't get off his arse and suggest themes for Eternal yet, we're considering doing Sloopy's suggestions of Fairytales and Manga/Anime, with a possible Asian. Jo and Sonja appear to be doing the Jason Isaacs Peter Pan, so I thought 'oooo, I can do Tinkerbell!' Who is fun and silly and rude. :g: Got to find white leggings for the Ghost costume - Tors, references here. Go to Covers, Ghost, then #7 for the best view of bodice if you've any ideas. (besides a hell of a lot of tit tape)
Next morning, ventured out to greasy spoon for brekkies at 11:30, then Andy, Ming, Tors and me went to Camden market to look for bits. We found Rifles badges (Andy's doing a Sharpe costume and persuading Chewie to do Perkins) and interesting things and Thundercats fitted t-shirts and PVC catsuits and Tors persuaded me to buy a silver bikini plus hotpants and leather biker gloves for no particular costume, just random bits... Maybe that could be a costume in itself.
Also on the comics subject? They're contemplating doing a Discworld entry. Andy as Vimes, Chewie as Teatime, Sonja as Susan Sto Helit, someone else as Vetinari, Ming as Twoflower, and Tors wants to do Angua. :glares: I wanna do Angua! Hair! General demeanour! Tors, you do Tiffany! Mind you, Tors does have a fabulous idea - giant entry of the Nac Mac Feegle, everyone in blue bodypaint, kilts and red wigs, complete with war cries.

Also?dolores, happy birthday... And Saturday was weird. Aside from me being posted to the bloody Queen Vic, I sold... 7 or 8 cameras. 3 in one day is good. 7 or 8 is scary, especially when it's 2 camcorders by 10:30. With at least 2 accessories per camera. Mind you, as I use the same number as Gemma and didn't bother to use another one, her sales figures for that day are going to look bloody amazing. I think I became some strange camera-selling fiend, or I just got all the people who were on a mission to buy a camera.
