burntcopperI have my very own big broadsword! It is dull-bladed and not shiny and probably a little big for my height (but wouldn't hit the ground if I was walking) but it is gorgeous and yes, I did spend a busy few minutes posing in front of the mirror with it. Parcelline were nice enough to make a redelivery fifteen minutes ago, thus I heart them. Parcelline boys are always very nice anyway. (saw them every couple of days at Jessops) But my sword! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
It is now under the bed, wrapped up again. And it is mine! Mine! Mine! Okay, yes, it says Excalibur on the hilt, but it was one of the few that was actually plain and sensible enough to suit me. I refuse to carry anything curved or ninja-like, unless it was for period use.

ellaminnow's Kings' Own fic. Apart from me loving the hell out of it, am pondering who the blond captain is in the surgeon's tent, also of the 74th. Am suspecting it is Viggo. Or possibly David. And wondering whether Bean will turn up as Bean or Sharpe...
