You put your heart and soul into a fic, it gets maybe three pieces of feedback. You get hit by a savage bunny, you write the thing in ten minutes. Cue half a tonne of feedback, especially if it's something scary like Dick Grayson meets the Fab Five.

We're artistes, dammit! Stuck in garrets pouring out our hearts and souls into our *art* and all the masses want is shallow, cheap and cheerful stuff! The PAIN! The TRAUMA!

Dude, it never fails. I mean, fine, we're supposed to be in it for love and art and blah blah pretentiouscakes and for the most part, we are, but it'd still be nice to get a little appreciation, yeah?
