Hmm.

Watching Flash Gordon and then soon after Moulin Rouge does strange things to your head. I keep getting lines like 'He saved everyone of us/I will love you until my dying -/Flash! Ah-ahhhhhhh!' in there. Strange and disturbing.

But still, my love for Flash Gordon is still pure and true. The gold foil uniforms! Brian Blessed! Awful lines! Respectable english actors overacting like their lives depended on it because they're having *way* too much fun!

'Flash I love you but we only have 14 hours to save the Earth!'

'To me, my hawkmen!'

The remote control of the spiky disk of doom!

And my god, I'd completely forgotten the tribute scene near the beginning with Flash going through the guards like a football game, with Dale cheerleading and Brian Blessed surreptitiously tripping/thwacking over the head any guards near him! Dwarves in metallic robes helping!

Written a few scenes of DCU/Discworld. Deciding which are worthy of posting and thus need cleaning up.

Heh. I don't think I remember anything about the movie itself, but I recognize the first quote from listening to the song on my "Best of Queen" CD way too often. "Gordon's alive... alive... alive...!"

I'm eagerly awaiting DCU/Discworld. I don't know what that says about me...

You forgot the BEST bit... Timothy Dalton in green tights. *bhg*

:g: he also looks disturbingly good with a moustache. It's like Toby Stephens. The man looks better with facial hair.

Oh my god, how could you forget that part! That's the best bit of the movie!

My family is part of the Cult of Brian Blessed and all overacting villains. We tended to focus on other parts of the film.

I concede that it is difficult to see past The Beard in the movie, yes.

Had you heard that all of Flashs' lines in that movie were redubbed and replaced by a totally different actor?
