They're ttrying to thwart me

They really are. I dl'd Lost ep 4. It turned out to be faulty, with the opening image stuck while the soundtrack played. I tried dl'ing it again from the same place, pondering if I'd managed to somehow screw it up. Dl'd the same ep from a different source. Both new ones? *Exactly* the same one. Opening image stuck while the soundtrack plays out happily. Arrrrgh!

ETA : problem solved by dl'ing new codec.

It does that when it needs a newer version of the codec than you are running. When I dled lots of Stargate they were all like that until I updated my codecs.

That happened to me with Stargate: Atlantis. It's a fault transfer. It's possible to reroute it temporarily by opening the file up in vid editing software (eg: Virtual Dub) and either whacking preview or wasting 3/4s of your life rematching the audio track.

*bats eyelashes*

Yes, I did try the audio track rematch. I can do a very good 'desperate' when I want to.

Duuude. Where did you find the eps? I've been trying to track down 1x04, having completely forgotten to tape this past Wednesday. If there others are up somewhere, it'd be nice to have digital copies of them, too. Heck, I'd be okay with surreptitiously hosting them for a while, if it would mean I could get them... :-)
