- in the vein of Strictly Come Dancing, hosted and taught by Torvill and Dean. Starts on 14th Jan.

Ice-skating duo Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean reunite for the first time in eight years for a new ITV show.
The pair, who 24 million viewers saw win Olympic gold medals in 1984, will look after aspiring celebrity skaters on live championship Dancing on Ice.

Ex-England goalkeeper David Seaman, Olympic athlete Kelly Holmes and dancer Bonnie Langford are among competitors.

A panel of judges and viewers' votes decide who continues on the Saturday night show, starting 14 January.

Other celebrity skaters include West End star John Barrowman, television presenter and executive Andi Peters and former IT Girl Tamara Beckwith.

The Bill's Stefan Booth, Coronation Street's Sean Wilson, Fat Friends star Gaynor Faye and GMTV's Andrea McLean are also taking part.

I'm betting on Bonnie and John being standouts because they've got very good co-ordination.

Good lord, John, are you trying to kill yourself with your schedule? Cinderella doesn't close til the 15th.

Heh, we've already done that here in Australia... and yeah, pretty much as bad as it sounds. *g* Although, I think in our version, they just ended up putting on some big performance, rather than actually competing. Or something.

The BBC did this as a christmas special last year calling it Strictly Ice Dancing.

So its just ITV ripping them off cause they are loosing hand over fist in the ratings to BBC

I'm trying to come up with a Dancing on Ice drinking game, but all I can think of is "Drink until you stop giggling."

i thought it sounded good til iI saw Bonnie's name. I've had a pathological dislike of her since she was in Doctor Who. Maybe it will be okay if they tape her mouth shut ;)

Trust me, outside of Doctor Who, that girl sparkles, is incredibly bendy, and is generally fabulous.

Unfortunately, most people's memories of her are from Dr Who.
