Birthday spent at Chiquito's with Brian and Graham, and never before have I experienced the hell that is trying to find conversation topics before with ensuing uncomfortable silences. All praise Edinburgh, that's all I'll say.

Received some jewellery, turkish delight, Shakespeare re-told and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Had forgotten how bloody heavy fabric can be - 7m of velvet and 1 and a half of fake leather is seriously fucking heavy. One set of the velvet is going to be made into a skirt, the rest is for Teyla's fighting outfit.

Life on Mars tomorrow. hmm.

Need to watch BSG and the last two SGA's. Currently getting rid of flist backlog.

Listening to showtunes cds I got for xmas. Not all of them great, but it is bloody weird to hear two songs you've previously heard done by tenors done by blokes with gravelly voices. Talk about '.....' mode. Some crap, some good stuff, some where mum stuck her head round the door and went 'oh, that's fantastic, remind me to steal the cd' when I was going 'eh, not bad, but not my type' (this was the more operatic stuff).

Sorry! My brain does have a tendency to turn to mush at times. Trying to think of something vaguely interesting to say, and just sat there watching mental tumbleweed (which is very strange - I can usually think of at least something that no-one is interested in talking about, and couldn't even manage that).

Guess it didn't help that I'd done bugger all of interest in the last couple of days, or that I was distracted by seeing someone on the furthest table that looked spookily like somebody I know.

Crap at conversation, but pretty good at excuses for it - at least it's one step up from saying I collect women's ears in buckets.

Oh, and you might want to check out 'Root of all evil' tomorrow - you may find it interesting...
