burntcopperHmm. Innnnteresting. Wasn't expecting sam to be so depressed / convinced he's hallucinating, but they've hooked my interest for definite.
Sheer level of detail was scary, and after asking mum, no they weren't exaggerating on how they treated Annie. I did ask how she stopped herself from thumping them. Thank god was born in '79, that's all I'll say. Also, evil and icky interiors that I just about remember from the early 80s. Eeeyargh.
Nice balance between Sam and the rest, him all forensic and by the book, them charging in, plus him getting a bit respect for finding the leads. Though his principles are starting to be eroded already, so when he gets back to the present, you can just imagine him being told 'what do you think you're in, mate, The Sweeney?'
Forensics in the morgue? fantastic. All the stuff they didn't even think to look for and him pretty much beating his head against the wall at their lack of knowledge and all the resources they don't have.
It is pre-slashed for your convenience, this show. :lies back and basks: It's not just a buddy cop show, it's a 1970s buddy cop show, which means you just have to settle back and watch the text as they abuse each other, drink in pubs in the afternoon, and beat each other up and then put the other to bed.

wiccachik and megolas the fact that they so have to have Sam hearing something on radio/tv or seeing a tiny three line story in the paper and saying what's going to happen in the future because of it. Maggie Thatcher, for instance. 'Her, she's just some bird MP.' 'Scariest woman *ever*, I'm telling you.' .... Went looking for what Maggie was doing in 1973 - Secretary of Education - Tories were in power then - then when they got kicked out, took over the leadership reins in '75. Cue wiccachik going 'Can we say Harriet Jones?'
