Have only seen the news on BBC website, but I have this to say :

Attack by taffeta and strange bits of material! Augh! Michelle, bright yellow is *wrong* for blondes! Naomi, you're not supposed to turn up in something that looked like you were wearing it when you were being dragged through the jungle by Kong.

Ang Lee got consolation Best Director for Brokebitch not getting Best film.... (and I can't believe I used the phrase 'consolation best director')

Were Rabbit for best animated? Not a surprise in the slightest. Seriously, all the 'what's going to win' lists all had Nick Parks clearing a space on his oscars shelf. Though the bowties were a bit disturbing.

Rachel Weisz getting Best Supporting actress : also not a surprise in the slightest. The girl has been a complete shoo-in the whole awards season.

[livejournal.com profile] hackthis has warped my mind. Saw the Best Supporting Actor winner and I pumped the air with my fist and yelled "You got Gold, baby!". I'm so glad no-one else was in the house. We're *so* going to need fic about this. But squee, George got an oscar!!!!!! Entourage has finally downloaded after a week, so I can finally get to see Ari do his thing outside fanfic.

Must make effort to see Good Night and Good Luck this weekend. I, er, seeing Syriana... um... I spent my life in the oil business. Parents and me saw trailer and went 'How, how, how could you believe such a thing about corruption and CIA and big business? :hands on forehead in best dramatic style: How????????' I'm not entirely sure this attitude is the best mode for seeing said film in.

Oh, and if you haven't read [livejournal.com profile] trinityofone's SGA oscar fic, what is your excuse, pray tell?

As I mentioned earlier - Bonnie joins Chicago on 18th April (http://www.whatsonstage.com/dl/page.php?page=greenroom&story=E8821141640527). It then transfers to the Cambridge Theatre on the 28th. And yes, she's Roxie...

Also, Sylvester McCoy is at Trafalgar Studio 2 from 26th April (http://www.whatsonstage.com/dl/page.php?page=greenroom&story=E8821141652695).
