Poked the National Blood Service today to update my addy to the work one, since there's a donor centre on Margaret St (off Regent St) on way to work. Maketh more sense. And due to Reading being in different database jurisdiction from London (there's three databases for the UK), they have to issue me a new donor number. Inefficient people.
:sigh: I want to read all the porn I've saved on del.ic.ious and can't until we get broadband, which won't be til the 8th. Not enough time in the lunch hour.
Got dragged along to the security detail of the Beltane ritual at Fairfield halls last night. Where we manned the stall and told people to fuck off and keep quiet in the corridor outside the rooms where the ritual was going on. Told Jackie to use the words 'religious ceremony' instead of 'ritual' because then people actually get that yes, this is an identical situation to church/mosque/temple/prayer meeting and you should keep your voice down out of respect. This was very necessary since there was an Elvis tribute concert going on in other parts of the halls and the sheer amount of noisy old people around who had to be told to shut up was untrue. Though the stall of Elvis tat they were selling had to be seen to be believed. Tat so tacky I *had* to buy the Blue Hawaii surfboard-shaped tin of vanilla cream breath mints. (there was also the Love Me Tender ones, but Blue Hawaii called to me) I was this close to getting one of the baccy tins for emergency sewing kit, but the pictures on the tins were kinda crappy.
