Supernatural Beastie Poll!

Pondering what everyone's opinions of what supernatural being they'd be - it normally comes down to vampires vs. werewolves (I personally am a werewolf girl all the way, refuse to even dress as a vamp under any circumstances - it's kind of like my aversion to being an elf)

If its Buffyverse, no contest, because werewolves are basically themselves but vampires are demons who stole a corpse.

If its one of the more flexible kinds of vampire, where you've got the option of floating around being all pale and interesting and living off blood banks, that would be different.

Mostly I'd rather stick with being a mage.

But Highlander style Immortals rather lack disadvantages.

...I thought they'd determined the btvs thing was 'lose soul, changed to demon, but on the other hand, lose all inhibitions re: violence.' Not replacement *by* demon, merely that you become one by virtue of getting turned and losing your soul - the 'became demon, no longer that person' being something the Council told their slayers to ensure they wouldn't have any problem killing their friends that got turned.

I think it depends on which story they're telling. I mean when Buffy was talking to Ford then it was very clear, he couldn't save his life that way, he'd be dead and a demon would move in. Same with Spike and his mum, he decided that wasn't actually his mum it was a demon. But Spike himself makes the whole thing rather more complicated.

i have always been torn between a vampire and an elf, but they're both pretty and wear great clothes so i'm never sure which way to turn.

Don't know how relevant this is, but I've always fancied being a banshee... Definitely over werewolf. vampire or elf.

I picked werewolf, but only because you don't have werehyena up there. Hyena trumps everything*, because hyenas are just that cool. Hyena females pick their mates on the basis of charm, patience and calmness! How cool is that? And they're so much than lions, who are all bastards without a single redeeming feature, just better PR.

*Except platypuses, obviously.

Angel
In the vampire game I was in for 5 years I played an angel (before Demon the reckoning or whatever) Anyone who can rip a Black Spiral Dancer in half in the first round of combat pisses on werewolves and vampires

Werewolf. Definitely. On the grounds that I'm pretty vicious once a month anyway so I'd be sort of accustomed to it.

Vampires do too much poncing off in frilly cuffs for my liking and I'd never live down the Anne Rice connection.
