Is anyone else watching The Riches? (Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver plus kids as gypsies attempting to live the american dream) I've watched two and a bit eps (they've been lurking on hard drive for a while) and can't figure out whether I like it enough to d/l the next five. Thoughts?

Watched 3 eps of supernatural. (5-7 - yes, I really am that behind) :pets boys on the head: I'm not in the immense fannish love, but they're cute to watch and the eps are tight and well written and flow well and have good suspense. Also, I adore Jo and her mum.

Watched repeat of Dr Who. I must worship Martha some more. I mean, I adored Rose, but... Martha. Sparkly hearts of sensible and doing things and solving things and thinking about stuff. (jen, stop bouncing over there. I can see you. Put the glitter pen down *NOW*.)

Still vaguely not-well. going to get some food. Also, we have no hot water. Well... we have room temperature water, which if you want to wash in it, requires a couple of kettles' worth added.

Had the slightly odd whatsit of seeing a song listed as HIM. While I sat there going '... those lyrics look familiar. Oh. Chris Isaak. Huh.' Couple of other songs listed under them too which were covers. Oh lord I'm old. Or rather, I was about twelve or less when these songs came out, and, um, the context you're putting them in as soundtrack for this fic? I'm pretty sure the older versions' arrangement would work better.

I quite like the HIM version. Though someone could do a vaguely death metal/goth rock cover of Technohead's 'I Wanna Be a Hippy' and I'd quite like that too.

The only musical 'Dear GOD, I'm OLD!' moment I've had this week was watching a vid where the vidder declared the track was Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy the Silence' and I sat there going 'Noooo, this is the 2004 Shinoda remix of Enjoy the Silence!', then it clicked with me that this is 2007, the remix was '04 of a song from '86... *facepalm* When the remixes are almost half a decade old, THEN I start to feel ancient.

And GWS for this has really buggered up your weekend. *hugs*

Could be worse, a bunch of us on a comics list went and yelled 'Fat of the Land wasn't even out when this comic had its first printing!' because someone had declared that 'Smack my Bitch Up' was clearly the soundtrack for this comic. And then collectively went 'oh god, it was that long ago?

Ok, that's worse. I hope that I'm senile LONG before an occasion like that arises. O_o

I've really been enjoying The Riches--there's a plotline or two that I wish they'd resolve already, but overall I think it's a really good show. So yeah, download away! :o)

Seen the first coouple of The Riches - I think I've got two problems with it which are a) they're not entirely sure of the tone of the show, whether it's drama or comedy-drama and b) Minnie Driver's character. Too many issues, too much moping. Against that though Eddie's an absolute star (but we knew that already). I think I'm going to wait until someone picksit up over here.

Enjoy the Silence was 90 wasn't it?

At least that makes me feel a little younger...
