JB's latest efforts in cheese

mutter ow owwww owww.

Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for microwaveable wheat bags. Also great for when going out for fag break - stick in hoodie, nice and toasty while the smokers shiver. :snerk: On the other hand, it's very weird. Even when i was a size 18 I didn't really have a stomach. Thicker waist, sure, but no actual stomach.

Music Music Music arrived in the mail. Oh, the easy listening cheese.... (yeah, so waiting for the live versions which won't be completely blanded. It's a decent sound, it's just the obsessives can tell you JB can sound *so* much better.) I really wish he hadn't included 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You', though. Due to Drop Dead Gorgeous, there is no way I can listen to that song without collapsing into giggles. um. Due to just how *nice* JB's voice is, (rounded vowels and diction, etc), I think 'Right here Waiting' is actually blander and more easy listening than the original. No, srsly, WTF? and they just managed to bland out Daniel's voice on 'Uptown Girl' :reads liner notes: awww, he deems him a worthy successor to the nickname 'Leather Lungs'. can never decide whether JB wants to shag or adopt that boy.

He said the leather lungs thing at Faenol. I think it's Keith he wants to adopt and Ben he wants to shag actually.

Oh and what you say about "Right Here Waiting" can equally be applied to "Both Sides Now" IMO. Great song made incredibly boring, by a man who has some much power and passion on stage that I think Sony have a lot to answer for (I Am What I Am was always going to be a problem so not going to comment on that)

heh. well, he did say that he and denise spent a lot of time staring at Ben's arse.

...have checked out the keith urban track on youtube. :wince: in this case JB is *less* bland.

At least I am what I am comes off better than his various studio-recorded versions of 'Being Alive'. dammit. desperately want JB to age ten years so he can have a pop at the current version of Cage. Not sure who i'd cast opposite him, though. :ponders: Ben would probs make a pretty good hash of the son role.

Yes but I see him as more of a Georges...and whilst I could see him as Albin I think it would be a bit of a cliche for him to play the aging camp Queen and I'd much rather see him do something else. Now he would have been great as Barnum but sadly that's never going to happen now

I can't stand Ben so I hope not. I would die happy if I never saw him on stage ever again.

yeah. Dammit. :kicks both JB and Gavin: WE DO NOT WANT VARIETY. WE WANT ACTUAL CONTENT. I suppose I'm kinda biased due to seeing the Douglas Hodges/Denis Lawson pairing - I can't see JB as quite that dapper, being closer to Douglas Hodges in body type.

I've really liked Ben each time, and he can do the arrogance the son requires.

Ben cannot sing and his dancing is usually out of time when I've seen him, but each to their own. I think he'd be quite poor in that role. Danny in Grease or some other lightweight role maybe.

Denis Lawson is a very lightweight Georges .. particularly up agains Quast's (such a shame he didn't renew). Lacks gravitas and dignity. It needs more of a heavy weight performer to do it justice. John couldn't carry off Albin..too camp, too hammy in his acting, he'd never manage the pathos you would get cheese acting like in Torchwood..plus it would be such a cliche. Let's have John as the camp aging queen...yawn!

Did you watch JB on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two last night? He did a behind the scenes section. If not, you can catch up on BBCiPlayer. :)
