yeah, the last 3-4 times, I've actually been woken up just before I start bleeding.
Suspect it's a side-effect of my brain clicking in a couple of days before with 'hmm, period should be happening soon'. Considering I'm now no longer on pills and period can be somewhat irregular, I think this be a good thing.
