smug writer is smug

23.9% in 4 days. Torn between feeling terribly smug and my more sensible side pointing out that this is bolstering for the writers' block/theatre days (today was pretty bad - only about 4k and i didn;t go to work today. Spent a large portion of afternoon tapping odd words and scowling at the cursor). But anyway, the intro scenes are done, (copper agreeing to go into undercover, thief getting blackmailed into working with MI-13) and I'm now into the chapter heading known as 'Slices of Life 01'. Which is a bit weird, since it's slices of establishing backstory, other characters (I really have to come up with another name for the 2ic in one of the major criminal families than 'Archie', since that's what the role is called in RocknRolla) and working up to the positions they're in in the present day - copper as relied-upon solid person in the underworld, thief as an established MI-13 consultant - and before they properly meet each other. I'm trying to resist putting werewolf boy into the copper's bits of this chapter, as he's supposed to be formally introduced to him *after*. it doesn't help that all my notes for various scenes are completely jumbled up time-line wise.
