Well, it's been and gone. I spent both Sunday's two minutes of silence and today's working, but I was silent. Not sure if that counts. I just kinda.. missed them. As usual, was wearing the poppy for over a week beforehand - I'm one of those people who hunts down poppy sellers to get mine, and invariably end up buying about three after I lose the first two. Not sure exactly why I do. The only family member of mine to die in war was one of my Grandad's brothers... I think. Not sure on this. Suppose it's a mark of respect for everyone else.

Was reading a piece about Remembrance Day in the paper a few days ago. Someones comment that in the sixties it didn't seem so important, and so very uncool what with all these big issues and Vietnam and so on. These days most of my mates and work colleagues wear them. Either out of duty or pride. Despite the fact that we've almost definitely got no contemporaries who suffered from war. Interesting...
