Today be the day of the neighbourhood pre-Christmas bash, which is hosted by our family. It's fairly simple - We do the sunday before Christmas, the Rixons do Christmas day, and the Mackays do New Years. It's all about the food and drink (let no man get between the ravening hordes and the chocolate mousse. Or the chicken. You will be flattened.) and goes on from 1pm until around 10pm or so. We are terribly, terribly family-oriented in this neighbourhood - it's all families who moved in with kiddies of around five or six and stayed. Older kids take care of the younger kids. Occasionally we get a few new ones, and they're inducted full-force. And now I must leave to go cook massive amounts of food and make fiddly starters.

You have some good recipes? I need something small and simple but huge amounts of that I can serve on New Years.

... not really. we tend to be known for our complex stuff. Words of advice : pasta. (carbonara goes down well)
