Sharpe ramblings, yet again

Theresa getting better, and I'm so in love with all the officers. Especailly the one who's permanently pissed, as well as the idiot commanders. Though of course I wanted to shoot the brattish spoilt Viscount William Matthews. It's a knee-jerk reaction to anyone like that in period drama. Kill. Killkillkill. (See also Lizzie Hexam's brattish snobby brother in Our Mutual Friend) Though the scene did have added gratuitous ogling of Sean Bean's back with flogging scars. Am reminded of that bit in Eagle where Hogan tells him to stop showing off and put his shirt back on.
Awww, Harper got flogged. Ah, the usual Wellington just made his first appearance... trying to decide which one I like better. The other one was more of a hard bastard schemer, this one's funnier and more posh. Hmm. Added moments - the wives are damn cool, and the so completely cute moment of Perkins leaving his worldly goods to Hagman, and Dan just grinning and going 'likewise'. Awww. Though dammit, Dan, grow your hair some more! It's not quite got out of the bobbed look of the first appearance yet. Nor does it have the streaks of grey yet. Put *down* the Grecian 2000. Then we had Cooper doing his will, which was bloody funny "including stoppages?". Though, um, Sharpe, didn't you notice your girlfriend started getting fatter? I'm sure you saw her more than once in the nine months after you first slept with her. And the fact that the stomach suddenly went away. Plus, Theresa, it took you eight months after that to tell him that you'd had his kid? Christ almighty. Other bits - what the hell happened to Tongue, bible-spouting Chosen Man of the bandana? Not a single bloody mention of him. At least they could've mentioned that he was killed or summat, not to mention Perkins got a bloody good send-off when he died.
:cough: Now comes the Sergeant Obadiah Hakeswill appreciation section. All shall worship at Pete Postlethwaite's altar, oh yes they shall, mother. So. Fucking. Fantastic. Psychotic drill sergeants-r-us, with sideburns and shaved heads. Oh yes. First sequence when Sharpe first sees him and orders him into a wall, then shouts in his face. Mmm. So damn good.
