Friday evening, went drinking and dancing with girls from work. okay, but of course they pulled out the good cheese at 11-ish when we thinking of going... But the cheese went up a level previously unachieved on cheese nights : Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life. Oh yes. Cue groan from everyone. Then every single girl throwing themselves into it and doing actions.
Saturday : Regents Park, Broadwalk Ballroom. (lesson + free dance after) This was fun, though we have discovered that the foxtrot is far more difficult to carry off when dancing to music than the jive, which is relatively easy. Then watched all the people who can dance, which is terribly pretty. With added tourists looking very bemused and thinking that this went on every weekend. Adjourned to rose garden and beyond for milkshakes and lazing about in the shade. Where we were just in time to get most of Hello Dolly! as nice background music. (it's rather fabulous that you can get dancing in one part of the park and theatre in another and neither impinges on the other) Concluded that choral voices are a very odd sound, since it sounds recorded even when live.
