a day of boredom
May. 19th, 2003 05:10 pmToday I have got the paper, circled possible jobs to apply for, rung up for a few application forms, sent off a couple of applications, stuck the washing on the line and refused to make a mad haring dash to get it off again when there were a couple of five minute downpours. Because it'll fucking well dry again with the wind and sunshine that followed. Hoovered. In one of those moments of 'This carpet is fucking disgusting.' Even if you hate that job.
Checked the AA route from East Finchley to Purley to tally with
mingmerciless picking me up for Silver Arrow and was horrified to discover that the AA are sadists. According to them, when coming down the M4 from London, you should get off the M4 at Junction 10 and go all through Reading to get to the other side of it. This route, although it looks nice and clean on the map, is a nightmare of traffic lights, jams, one way systems, IDRs and so on. Quickly told Ming to get off at Junction 12 and go through Pangbourne, because although it looks longer, it's actually quicker and better for your health. Just remember, kiddies, never put total faith in the AA system. Especially if it tries to make you go through the centre of a very large and busy town which natives only dare try *after* 7pm.
Debating whether to get together a low-effort costume special for Silver Arrow - Templar squire/lackey - grey long sleeved t-shirt, trousers, and tabard of white with St. George's cross on it. All I have to do is buy the white sheet and some red paint.

katemonkey mentioned it. I don't get it. Why the hell has the new series of Six Feet Under not been advertised one jot by Channel 4? Last year there were poster adverts. Heavy trailing on the channel. Of course, I may have missed these due to not really watching anything but Sky, BBC2 and the Sci-Fi channel recently... oh, and Five has picked up Angel. No idea what season they'll be showing it from, but they've got a track record of treating sci-fi shows with proper respect and not trying to put a show that goes out at 9pm normally on at teatime.

Date: 2003-05-19 12:32 pm (UTC)Oh, praise the lord! I have completely lost faith in channel 4 what with the whole Angel debacle. Hopefully Five will realise what it's got and give us an Angel and Alias double whammy.
