Hobbit-ness gains speed
Feb. 20th, 2002 07:41 pmRight. There's a whole lot of us planning to go to Eclipse in LOTR gear at one stage. Elves, Aragorns, all kind of things. I looked through my choices, then at body shape and behaviour and came to the basic conclusion that life wants me to go as Rosie Cotton. Yep, Hobbit lass that they try to convince us is who Sam's interested in at the beginning of the film, and that he ends up having a squillion kids with. Short, busty, and I can't see myself carrying off the whole elf thing. And I don't have enough flame-retardant material to carry off the Balrog outfit.
Anyway, was agonising over exactly how I was going to get various items in the basic Hobbit-wench costume, like the skirt and the corset - peasant blouse would be easy in current fashion climes. But lo and behold, was venturing upstairs to go and look in Topshop for blouses today when saw a lace-up front corset in Hennes window. Ideally, it should be back-laced, but dammit, I'm taking what I can get. There is no fucking way I'm spending over £60 on a proper one. Also discovered have gone down in size re:corset, as the 12 fit and the 14 was way too big. Normally I'm a 10-12 in t-shirts. Mind you, I constantly feel like I'm about to fall out of the damn thing. Should be better when I get the shirt underneath. Now, to find the skirt....
