First entry of the weekend

We have visited the great 'slashy blonde dvd' thang on Jaq... But I'm a Cheerleader, Goldeneye, Legally Blonde, A Knight's Tale and scarring her with Crossroads. Have also watched 40 Days and 40 Nights, in which I have been forced to agree with Jaq and Meg. Silly, v. funny, and Josh Hartnett? Grace incarnate and including most erotic non-touching sex scene ever. (Jaq is now on the list of convertees to the wonder that is nekkid Paul Bettany)

Saw the Howard Shore thing at Royal Festival Hall, with added Whirling Dervishes and genial Irish music. V. good, plus viva_gloria, meg and moi came up with Prophecy/Sharpe bunnies independently at same time during course of evening... Plus Troy casting was done at Pizza Express.

Later, moi + Megs watched Sound of Music. With added really bad singing, traumatising Jaq, upstairs on comp. Peter Jackson *so* stole the beginning shots of mountains of TTT from it. Other LOTR bits were commented on... :snerk: Smutty comments were made. Jaq got her own back by pointing out that the head nun is, in fact, John Wayne. Were further traumatised by us noticing that she even bloody walks like him. (i.e. groin injury) Have also discovered a shameful secret : the getting together of the Captain and Maria is far too romantic and cute for words and our little tough bitchy exteriors. We melt into puddles of goo thus far unseen outside gay films.

Have also come to disturbing realisation when watching the wedding scene and commenting on what a great gress it is that Julie Andrews musicals obviously shape our perceptions of life. Quite scary :
